TOLEDO, Ohio — Rising Tejano artist Meché Trejo is continuing to build her musical identity with the release of her second single, “Vente Conmigo,” accompanied by a music video that highlights her creative vision and evolving sound.
Following the response to her debut single, “Sabes Que Te Amo,” The Ohio singer-songwriter returns with a romantic song that draws on the timeless storytelling at the heart of Tejano music while incorporating contemporary influences and a distinctive visual style.
Written and produced by Meché and her father, Andrés Trejo, “Vente Conmigo” tells a love story through an approach that reflects the young artist’s desire to honor her musical roots while exploring new creative directions.
“This song is really what I wanted to showcase what I can bring to this genre. I wanted to give people a familiar sound, but also with my own twist in a new age style,” Meché said.
The music video further establishes her artistic identity. Meché took a hands-on approach to creating the visual, drawing from the alternative aesthetics and influences she hopes to incorporate into her music moving forward.
“After my first release, I wanted the next song to show people another side of who I am and where I’m going with my music, so that’s the reason why I did the video by myself to really capture what I love and what I really wanna express going forward,” she said.
By taking creative control of the video, Meché offers listeners a closer look at her personality and the direction she envisions for her career. The release represents another step in her effort to develop a sound that feels familiar to Tejano audiences while reflecting her own generation and musical interests.
A Family Legacy Rooted in Tejano Music
Meché’s connection to Tejano music runs deep through her family. Her grandfather, Andrés Trejo Sr., led the celebrated group Andy Trejo y Sus Dinámicos, while her father, Andrés Trejo, has performed with Tejano groups Los Untouchables and Pasión.
That family history has helped shape Meché’s appreciation for the genre and its traditions. With her father collaborating on her songwriting and production, “Vente Conmigo” also represents a continuation of the musical legacy that inspired her.
Rather than limiting herself to a single sound, Meché is exploring ways to bring different influences together while keeping Tejano music at the center of her artistic identity.
Looking Ahead to New Music in 2027
With more music already in development, Meché is preparing for an active 2027, planning additional releases as she works toward her second studio album.
Her musical interests extend beyond Tejano, with R&B and indie pop also influencing her creative direction. Those sounds are expected to contribute to her continued evolution as an artist while she remains connected to the genre that shaped her upbringing.
With “Vente Conmigo,” Meché Trejo is taking another step toward establishing herself as an emerging voice in Tejano music — one that respects the traditions of her family while embracing new ideas, personal storytelling and a modern visual identity.
