EDINBURG, Texas — Bobby Pulido officially said goodbye to the stage Saturday, October 17, 2026, returning to his hometown for an emotional, nearly two-hour performance titled “La Última Desvelada” at Bert Ogden Arena.
The sold-out concert marked the end of a remarkable chapter in Tejano music, celebrating 31 years of songs that became part of weddings, family gatherings and generations of memories. It also marked Pulido’s farewell to performing as he shifts his full-time attention to public service and his campaign for the U.S. House of Representatives in Texas’ 15th Congressional District.
From revisiting the music that launched his career to sharing the stage with his father, Tejano music icon Roberto Pulido, the evening was a celebration of family, gratitude and the lasting connection between an artist and his fans.

A Hometown Farewell 31 Years in the Making
Pulido’s musical journey began in 1995, when a young singer from Edinburg released “Desvelado,” the signature hit that helped introduce him to audiences around the world.
Before performing the song one final time at his farewell concert, Pulido reflected on how unexpectedly his career unfolded.
“In 1995, I was just a kid from Edinburg, Texas, with a pretty decent singing voice. I had absolutely no idea where life would take me,” Pulido told the crowd. “I never imagined that a little song called Desvelado would take me around the world and help me win Grammys and give me the opportunity to do what I’ve loved for 31 years.”
He made it clear that the journey was never his alone.
“And none of that happened because of me alone. It actually happened because of you,” he said.
Pulido acknowledged how his songs had become woven into the lives of fans, from couples who fell in love dancing to his music to those now bringing their own children to his concerts.
“That’s when I realized that these songs stopped belonging to you a time long ago,” he said. “And what a privilege it has been.”
The moment captured the significance of a career that reached beyond hit records, connecting generations of Tejano music fans through shared experiences and family traditions.
Roberto Pulido Joins His Son for a Special Musical Reunion
One of the night’s highlights came when Roberto Pulido joined his son onstage, honoring their longstanding musical partnership and the family legacy that helped shape Bobby’s career.
Together, the father-and-son duo performed classic material, including “Contigo,” the career-launching duet that holds a special place in their musical history.
The reunion offered a particularly meaningful moment during Bobby’s final concert, bringing the story back to the family connections and musical roots that helped shape his journey.
An Emotional Tribute to His Family
Before his final song, Pulido also took time to recognize the people closest to him, acknowledging the sacrifices that came with a career spent traveling and performing.
He addressed his four sons — Remy, Darian, Trey and Rodrigo — reflecting on the birthdays, holidays and family moments he sometimes missed while pursuing music and serving the people of South Texas.
“But I want you to know that no Grammy, no concert, and no amount of applause will ever mean more to me than being together,” Pulido said. “I love you all.”
He then paid tribute to his wife, Mariana, recognizing the responsibilities she carried while he was away on the road.
“You’ve been the bedrock of our family,” he told her, thanking her for raising their family and keeping their home together through the demands of his career.
“People thank me for the sacrifices I’ve made. But the truth is you’ve sacrificed even more,” he said.
Pulido also offered heartfelt words to his father, Roberto, crediting him with continually pushing him to work harder and remember where he came from.
“I’ve spent my life trying to make you proud,” he said.
He thanked his mother for the sacrifices she made throughout the years, sharing her husband and son with audiences while enduring the absences that accompanied their musical careers.
The family tribute revealed the personal side of a farewell that extended far beyond the end of a concert tour. For Pulido, closing this chapter meant recognizing not only the fans who supported him, but also the loved ones who shared in the cost of the journey.
‘I’m Leaving With No Regrets’
As he reflected on the end of his performing career, Pulido expressed gratitude rather than regret.
“Of course, I’m emotional. But I’m leaving with no regrets. And a heart full of gratitude,” he told the audience.
He thanked fans for allowing his music to become part of their celebrations, relationships and lives.
“Most people go their entire lives without ever catching lightning in a bottle. And because of you, we got to do that together,” he said.
Pulido thanked the audience for 31 years of love and support, recognizing the rare opportunity to build a career around music he loved while sharing it with generations of listeners.
Bobby Pulido Addresses His Congressional Campaign
The farewell concert also provided Pulido with an opportunity to explain why he chose to step away from music and pursue public service.
Addressing the crowd as a candidate seeking to represent Texas’ 15th Congressional District, he described meeting South Texas residents facing financial challenges, including workers struggling to pay bills, grandparents concerned about the cost of medicine, parents worried about their children and young people questioning whether homeownership would be possible.
He said those experiences reinforced his decision to enter politics, even as he acknowledged the difficulty of leaving behind a career he loved.
“Now, all of you know me as a singer. But for a minute, I want to talk to you as a man ready to represent you in Congress,” Pulido said.
He also spoke about political divisions and the importance of community, saying he wanted to represent people regardless of party affiliation.
“I’m not Team Red, I’m not Team Blue. I’m Team You, South Texas,” he said.
Pulido described public service as looking someone in the eye and letting them know they have someone standing behind them.
“Music gave me everything I could have dreamed of. For 31 years, I got to do what I loved,” he said. “I’ll tell you right now, I do music for me. But I’m running for Congress for you.”
He added that if elected, he would remember his roots and focus on representing the people of South Texas rather than a political party.
“I’m not going to Washington to serve a political party. I’m going to serve you,” Pulido said.
His remarks brought the two defining chapters of his life together: a music career built in South Texas and a new pursuit centered on representing the community that shaped him.
Passing the Music to a New Generation
Although the concert marked his final performance as a stage artist, Pulido emphasized that his farewell did not mean the end of the music itself.
“Our music doesn’t belong to one singer or one generation. It belongs to all of us,” he said.
Pulido shared the stage with young musicians from South Texas, recognizing their talent and the possibility that the next generation of Tejano artists was already emerging.
He encouraged the young performers to stay connected to their identities and roots.
“Never forget where you come from. Never be ashamed of who you are. And never let anybody tell you that someone like you can do something extraordinary,” he told them.
The moment reinforced a central theme of the evening: while one performer was stepping away from the stage, the music and culture he helped carry forward would continue through other artists and the audiences who embrace them.
Pulido also thanked his band for being part of the journey before preparing to deliver the song that had defined so much of his career.
‘Desvelado’ Brings the Night to a Close
With his family, bandmates, young musicians and fans gathered for the final moments, Pulido closed the nearly two-hour retrospective with “Desvelado.”
The performance served as a symbolic bookend to a career that began with the song in 1995 and carried him through more than three decades of Tejano music.
As he prepared to bring the evening to its conclusion, Pulido thanked everyone who had been part of his journey.
“And to everybody who’s been a part of this incredible journey, from the bottom of my heart, thank you,” he said.
He ended his remarks by thanking the audience for the years of support, closing with a final expression of gratitude before launching into the signature hit.
A Final Message of Gratitude
The day after the concert, Pulido shared photos from the evening on social media, reflecting on the experience of saying goodbye in his hometown before a sold-out audience.
“Last night was everything I hoped it would be and more,” Pulido wrote. “Being back home in Edinburg, looking out at a sold-out arena, and sharing that moment with my family, and so many people who mean so much to me is something I’ll never forget.”
He continued by thanking fans for their memories, support and love throughout his career.
“I couldn’t have asked for a better way to close this chapter,” he wrote.
For Pulido, “La Última Desvelada” was more than a final concert. It was a celebration of the songs that defined his career, the family that stood beside him, the fans who made those songs part of their lives and the South Texas community he now hopes to represent in Congress.
The stage chapter has closed, but as Pulido reminded the audience, the music belongs to everyone — and its story will continue with the generations who carry it forward.
