The monumental unveiling took place on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, with Selena’s widower and Selena y Los Dinos lead guitarist, Chris Pérez, traveling to Cleveland to personally present the artifact alongside museum curators.

Reflecting her massive, enduring impact across genres, the museum placed Selena’s exhibit in a prime, high-profile location. According to an ecstatic Chris Pérez, the late Queen of Tejano’s look sits directly alongside displays for Eddie Van Halen, Kurt Cobain, and Michael Jackson.

This marks only the second time the legendary outfit has been displayed outside of its permanent home in Corpus Christi, Texas, and the GRAMMY Museum.
