SAN ANTONIO, Texas — The countdown to one of Texas’ biggest Tejano music celebrations officially begins on Wednesday, Aug. 12, as organizers of Fiesta En La Playa 2026 host the festival’s 8th Annual Official Press Conference at Jaime’s Place, located at 1514 W. Commerce Street in San Antonio.
The free public event promises an evening filled with live music, artist interviews, festival announcements, and giveaways during a special live edition of Wacky Wednesday with Bumper Gomez.
Several of the festival’s headlining performers are scheduled to appear, including Tejano legends David Marez, Joey Garcia of Los Garcia Brothers, members of La Fiebre, and Ram Herrera, giving fans a chance to hear firsthand about what to expect during Labor Day Weekend in Rockport.
Adding to the excitement, Chente Barrera and his band will provide live music throughout the evening, performing between interviews before the festivities culminate with a massive Tejano jam session beginning at 7 p.m. featuring David Marez and special guest musicians.
Festival organizers will also give away 100 free tickets to Fiesta En La Playa during the event, making it an ideal opportunity for fans to secure admission while celebrating with some of Tejano music’s biggest names.
Admission to the press conference is free and open to the public, with families and music fans encouraged to attend.
