Tejano music fans should mark Friday, July 31, on their calendars as a wave of new releases is set to hit digital streaming platforms. Among the most anticipated is a brand-new single from six-time Tejano Music Awards winner Monica Saldivar, who will unveil her latest cumbia, “Pero Me Acuerdo de Tí.”
Saldivar confirmed the release date on social media, sharing an enthusiastic video message with fans before later revealing the title of the song. The singer also posted a teaser of the upcoming track, giving listeners a preview of what’s to come.
“Hey everyone, it’s Monica. I have some exciting news for you guys. I will be releasing a new single July 31st, so next Friday,” Saldivar said in the announcement. “I am so excited to show this to you guys. It’s a new cumbia. Obviously, I’m not going to tell you what the name of the song is just yet, but I will be sharing all throughout the week some video and pictures of the recording process and kind of talking about why I chose this song to record. So, I hope y’all will stay tuned with me, and I’m super excited, I can’t wait for y’all to hear. Love you guys.”
The countdown has continued throughout the week with behind-the-scenes content leading up to the release, building anticipation for what promises to be another energetic addition to Saldivar’s growing catalog.
The new single arrives following one of the biggest years of Saldivar’s career. At the 45th Tejano Music Awards last November, she earned three of the night’s top honors, taking home Best Female Artist, Video of the Year, and Collaboration of the Year alongside Texas Latino. The victories further cemented her status as one of the genre’s premier female performers.
A native of Grand Prairie, Texas, Saldivar first captured the attention of the Tejano music industry after winning the nationally televised Tejano Idol competition in 2015. Her breakout success quickly led to recognition as Best New Female Artist at both the Tejano Music Awards and the My Tejano Awards, launching a career that has continued to gain momentum with each release.
Known for blending traditional Tejano roots with a fresh, contemporary sound, Saldivar has become one of the genre’s most recognizable voices and continues to attract a new generation of listeners while remaining a favorite among longtime Tejano fans.
With “Pero Me Acuerdo de Tí” arriving on July 31, Saldivar is once again poised to deliver another dance-worthy cumbia as Tejano music celebrates a busy day of new releases.
Fans can stream “Pero Me Acuerdo de Tí” beginning Friday, July 31, on all major digital music platforms.
