The official music video for “Se Rompió” by Latin Grammy Award-winning Norteño/Tejano group Siggno premiered on the Freddie Records YouTube channel on July 10, giving fans a powerful visual companion to one of the most personal songs from the band’s new album, Su Legado 1938.
Written by Siggno founder, lead vocalist, and accordionist Jesse Turner alongside acclaimed songwriter Wences Romo, “Se Rompió” is a mid-tempo cumbia that blends smooth rhythms with an unforgettable melody and an emotional story of heartbreak and healing.
While the song explores the pain of a relationship coming to an end, Turner has shared that its meaning extends far beyond romantic loss.
“’Se Rompió’ has two very personal meanings for me,” Turner said. “First, it represents the end of a relationship where love fades away without words. It also represents the deep pain of losing my mother during the recording process of our new album.”
The song serves as one of the emotional centerpieces of Su Legado 1938, an album born from one of the most difficult seasons of Turner’s life.
During an appearance on The Bo Corona Show discussing the project, Turner revealed that after his mother’s passing in August, music became both an escape and a source of healing.
“I went into the studio there and I wrote a bunch of songs because I didn’t want to be home and I didn’t want to be sad,” Turner shared. “So I finished the album during that time, and I sang before my mom was buried, and I wrote her a song.”
He added that Su Legado 1938 became a deeply personal tribute inspired by her legacy, with “Se Rompió” perfectly capturing the album’s overarching message of heartbreak, perseverance, and finding the strength to move forward.
“Se Rompió” is the fifth single released from Su Legado 1938, following previously released tracks including “Si Me Ves Cantando,” “Vuela Madrecita,” and the collaboration “Traté De Olvidarte, Hasta La Cima Del Cielo” featuring Solido. Together, the songs have offered fans an early look at what promises to be one of Siggno’s most intimate and emotionally driven albums to date.
With the release of the official music video, fans can now experience the visual storytelling behind “Se Rompió,” a song that reflects both the heartbreak of lost love and the enduring bond between a son and his mother. As anticipation continues to build for Su Legado 1938, the new video offers another glimpse into an album that stands as one of the most personal chapters in Jesse Turner’s career.
