One of the most influential groups in Tejano and Norteño music has entered a major new partnership designed to preserve and expand its legacy for generations to come.
Primary Wave Music, one of the world’s leading independent music publishers, announced a new partnership with legendary Mexican music powerhouse Intocable. The agreement includes the band’s extensive music catalog as well as rights related to its name, image, and likeness. The deal also provides Intocable access to Primary Wave’s marketing resources and publishing infrastructure, including digital strategy, licensing, sync opportunities, and film and television production.
For a band that has spent more than three decades shaping the sound of regional Mexican music, the partnership marks another significant milestone in an already historic career.
“We’re excited to partner with Primary Wave and begin this new chapter together,” said Intocable frontman Ricky Muñoz. “Their vision, passion for music, and commitment to preserving artistic legacy make them the perfect team to help us continue expanding the reach of Intocable’s music for generations to come.”
Founded in Zapata, Texas, in the early 1990s, Intocable has become one of the most successful and respected acts in Latin music history. The group has sold more than four million albums, packed arenas throughout the Americas, and earned a reputation for blending traditional Norteño roots with contemporary production and heartfelt storytelling.
Their achievements include two Grammy Awards, three Latin Grammy Awards, multiple Billboard honors, and an impressive run of chart success. Intocable has landed 21 No. 1 hits and 47 Top 10 singles, while 15 of its albums reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Albums chart.
The partnership includes some of the band’s most beloved recordings, including chart-topping hits such as “Fuerte No Soy,” “Me Gusta Mi Vida,” “Sueña,” “Te Amo (Para Siempre),” “Si Me Duele, Que Duela,” and “Un Poquito Tuyo.” Several of those songs are featured on the Grammy-winning albums Íntimamente and Classic, both recognized as Best Regional Mexican/Norteño Album.
According to Primary Wave, the deal reflects the enduring value and cultural impact of Intocable’s catalog.
“Primary Wave’s partnership with Intocable underscores the enduring value of culturally significant music,” said Samantha Rhulen, Senior Vice President of Business & Legal Affairs at Primary Wave. “They are one of the most influential groups in Mexican music, and we’re excited to invest in their catalog, creating new opportunities for long-term global growth.”
The announcement comes during a landmark period for Intocable. The group is currently celebrating its legacy on the successful Cultura Tour and is set to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, further cementing its place among the most influential artists in Latin music history.
Over the years, Intocable has continued to break barriers, becoming the first Norteño group to launch a dedicated SiriusXM channel and earning recognition from Billboard as one of the Top Latin Artists of the 21st Century. Their impact extends far beyond chart success, with projects like the short film Estamos Todos showcasing the band’s commitment to messages of unity, hope, and healing.
With a catalog that has defined generations of fans and a new partnership focused on unlocking future opportunities, Intocable’s next chapter appears poised to be as impactful as its first.
