For nearly three years, Tejano Television has become a groundbreaking force in the genre, standing alone as the only 24-hour live streaming music video channel dedicated entirely to Tejano music. Since launching on May 1, 2023, the network has grown into a multimedia hub for Tejano fans across generations, delivering nonstop music videos, live programming, podcasts, concerts, and entertainment content to viewers around the globe.
Now celebrating its third anniversary, Tejano TV has surpassed 6.3 million hits according to Google Analytics and is available on Roku, Apple iOS, Android, and online through its official website, TejanoTV.com.
Founded by Juan Mendoza, the platform was created with a mission to give Tejano artists a dedicated space to showcase their music videos — something long missing from the genre’s media landscape.
“We have built a Tejano Network for Tejanos of all ages,” Mendoza said. “We have continued the traditions of MTV and VH1 but for Tejano Music. Tejano Television is a network that should have been built years ago to mainstream the artists’ videos.”
Mendoza says the platform has become an essential home for new releases, helping artists avoid getting buried in the endless flow of online video content.
“Every week, new videos are being released and we have the pleasure of streaming them and debuting them on our platform, rather than getting lost on YouTube,” he added. “Finally, there’s a music video streaming platform for Tejanos, by Tejanos.”
The network’s extensive catalog now includes more than 850 music videos on Tejano TV, over 300 classic videos featured on Tejano Classic TV, and more than 100 Latin music videos showcased through Lilah’s Playz. The platform has also expanded into additional programming categories including Souldies, Tejano Country, Texas Country, live concerts, special events, and podcasts.
One of the network’s signature programs is the “Top 10 Music Video Countdown,” recognized as the only countdown show of its kind in Tejano music. The show also airs on TVSA every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday, giving artists even more exposure through public television broadcasts.
Tejano Television has also broadened its reach by adding channels dedicated to 1980s and 1990s English-language music videos, appealing to viewers who grew up during the golden era of music television.
In addition to music programming, the network has assembled a growing roster of live shows and podcasts hosted by familiar names in Tejano entertainment and radio.
Featured live programs include:
- Lilah Mendoza hosting “Lilah’s Playz”
- Juan Mendoza, Dee Burleson, and Marcus Daniels on “The 3 Amigos Show”
- Keith Leal with “Tejano Time Podcast”
- Anthony Quintanilla, Esteban Quintanilla, and J. Rod on “Puro Potente Podcast”
- Gigi Guerrero and Norma Salazar hosting “Giras Y Desveladas”
- Reny Roland with “Reny On The Radio”
- Sammy Torres presenting “Capturada”
- Slic Ric and DJ Nune leading the “Top 10 Music Video Countdown”
All shows stream live before being archived on-demand through their respective channels, allowing fans to tune in anytime.
Additional audio programming includes the “San Antonio Oldies Show” and “Tejano Soul Radio” hosted by Henry Pena, the “TMA Radio Show” with Bino G, and the “Hacienda International Radio Show” hosted by Michelle Chel.
As Tejano Television enters its fourth year, Mendoza believes the platform represents one of the most important developments in the genre’s modern era.
“With everyone’s help and our great staff, the Tejano Television Network will live on for many years to come,” Mendoza said. “We feel this is the biggest thing to come to Tejano Music since the start of Tejano Internet Radio in 1999.”
