Tejano music icon Jay Perez is impacting Tejano airwaves with the release of his new single, “Te Quiero Amar,” hitting radio on April 8 via Freddie Records.
The upbeat track marks the third single from Perez’s latest album, Le Seguiremos, which has already delivered chart-topping success with “Incompetente En El Amor” and the acclaimed title track. With “Te Quiero Amar,” the San Antonio native continues to build momentum while staying true to the signature sound that has earned him a loyal fanbase for decades.
Written by his wife and longtime backup singer Roxanne Perez, the song delivers a vibrant, up-tempo cumbia driven by infectious rhythms, a catchy melody, and heartfelt lyrics centered on enduring love. It’s a blend that captures the spirit of traditional Tejano music while introducing a modern, dancefloor-ready energy.
“The rhythm of ‘Te Quiero Amar’ brings the energy, but the lyrics tell the story—this song is about everlasting love,” Perez shared. “It’s that perfect mix of a dance floor vibe and a heartfelt message—something that people can celebrate and relate to.”
The single was produced by Jay Alaniz and co-produced by Mariano Herrera, with executive production handled by The Martinez Brothers—Freddie Martinez Jr., John Martinez, and Marc Martinez. Recording, mixing, and mastering took place at Legends Sound Studios in Corpus Christi, Texas, under Herrera’s direction.
“Te Quiero Amar” is being serviced to Tejano and Regional Mexican radio stations, media outlets, and podcasts across the United States and Mexico, while also becoming available on all digital streaming platforms starting April 8.
Fans can also look forward to the official music video premiere later this month on YouTube via FreddieRecordsTV, adding another visual chapter to Perez’s latest musical era.
