Legendary Tejano group La Mafia is giving fans another reason to celebrate as they officially announced a special 30th anniversary “ruby red” vinyl edition of their GRAMMY-winning album Un Millón de Rosas.
The band shared the exciting news on social media, teasing the upcoming release with a message that has already sparked anticipation among longtime fans and vinyl collectors:
“Very Soon Special Edition 30th anniversary of ‘A Million Roses’ for the first time on Vinyl, Remastered by Armando Lichtenberger Jr / Producer of this first American GRAMMY of The Mafia.”
Originally released in January 1996, Un Millón de Rosas remains one of the most defining albums in La Mafia’s storied career. The project earned the group a GRAMMY Award for Best Mexican/Mexican-American Album at the 39th Annual GRAMMY Awards in 1997, solidifying their place at the forefront of Tejano music during its global rise.
The album’s impact extended far beyond awards. It reached No. 1 on the Billboard Regional Mexican Albums chart and produced major hits, including its iconic title track, which climbed into the top ten on the Billboard Top Latin Songs chart. The release also marked a significant moment for the band, as lead vocalist Oscar Gonzalez officially adopted the name Oscar De La Rosa, a change that would become synonymous with La Mafia’s enduring identity.

This upcoming “ruby red” vinyl continues a broader effort by La Mafia to preserve and celebrate their catalog through high-quality reissues. In 2024, the group released a 30th anniversary Limited Edition Double LP of their acclaimed 1994 album Vida. They followed that in 2025 with a vinyl pressing of Ahora y Siempre (1992), another influential release that helped shape the Tejano genre and contributed to the band’s GRAMMY-winning legacy.
While an official release date for the Un Millón de Rosas 30th anniversary vinyl has yet to be announced, anticipation is already building. With remastering handled by Armando Lichtenberger Jr.—the producer behind the group’s first American GRAMMY—fans can expect a premium listening experience that honors the album’s original brilliance while bringing new life to its timeless sound.
As La Mafia continues to celebrate their legacy through these special releases, the upcoming “ruby red” edition of Un Millón de Rosas is poised to become a must-have centerpiece for collectors and Tejano music fans.
