Something special is on the way for fans of the Queen of Tejano. The track comes from the legendary Live! album, originally released on May 4, 1993. The recording captures the electric atmosphere of a free concert held at the Memorial Coliseum on February 7, 1993, in Selena’s hometown of Corpus Christi. The performance showcased the singer’s powerful stage presence and the deep connection she shared with her fans.

Live! quickly became a milestone for Tejano music. Within its first year, the album was certified gold (Latin) by the Recording Industry Association of America, later reaching double platinum in 1995 and an impressive eight-times platinum certification in 2017.

The album also made history at the 36th Annual Grammy Awards, where Selena won Best Mexican-American Album—becoming the first Tejano artist to earn a GRAMMY in that category. The project also received major recognition at the 1994 Billboard Latin Music Awards and the 1994 Tejano Music Awards.

Commercially, Live! dominated the charts, reaching No. 1 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Albums chart, No. 2 on Top Latin Albums, and climbing to No. 79 on the Billboard 200—a rare crossover achievement for a Tejano release at the time.

The newly unveiled recording arrives as part of a broader celebration of Selena’s enduring influence in 2026. Universal Music Latino is spotlighting the singer’s catalog with special releases and commemorations that continue to introduce her music to new generations.

Among the major highlights this year is the induction of Selena’s groundbreaking 1994 album Amor Prohibido into the GRAMMY Hall of Fame, recognizing the project’s lasting historical and cultural impact. The honor will be celebrated during a special gala on May 8, 2026.

Additional tributes include the featured display of the Live! album at the GRAMMY Museum as part of the “From Texas To The World” exhibit, which celebrates Selena’s influence on music and culture.

Fans can also purchase a variety of commemorative releases from this past year , including 30th-anniversary editions of Amor Prohibido and the beloved posthumous album Dreaming of You in vinyl, CD, and cassette formats through the official Universal Music Latino shop. Exclusive vinyl pressings of classic albums like Entre A Mi Mundo are also available for collectors.

More than three decades after its original release, Live! remains one of the defining albums in Tejano music history. With the debut of this previously unheard performance, fans will once again experience the energy, passion, and timeless voice that cemented Selena’s place as the Queen of Tejano music.
