Fans at the sold-out La Casetera concert at Arena Monterrey on September 27, experienced an unforgettable moment when Tejano icon Elsa Garcia, affectionately known as “La Primera Dama” of Tejano music, took the stage for a surprise performance. The legendary singer joined La Casetera and their charismatic frontwoman Yuli Flores for a stunning Tribute Medley featuring Garcia’s timeless hits “Todavia,” “Escapate Conmigo,” and “Llorarás.” The emotional performance, now premiering on YouTube, is also available as a new single across all digital streaming platforms.
The electrifying collaboration was part of La Casetera’s Caseterapia Tour 2025, a show dedicated to celebrating the golden eras of Latin pop, cumbia, and Tejano. The Monterrey crowd erupted with joy as Garcia stepped onto the stage, marking a heartfelt reunion between two generations of Mexican and Tejano music excellence.
After the concert, Garcia shared her gratitude and excitement with fans on social media.
“What a beautiful surprise for my Monterrey peeps! Taking the stage at the completely packed Arena Monterrey as part of the Caseterapia Tour was something truly unforgettable,” she wrote. “Thank you to my dear friends from La Casetera and Remex Music for inviting me to share such a magical night. The energy and love will stay with me forever.”

The special performance adds another highlight to Garcia’s celebrated comeback. After a 25-year hiatus, she returned to the stage in 2024, dazzling audiences at Nortex Live 2024 in Monterrey and the Vegas Tejano Takeover in Las Vegas. Her return has been met with overwhelming enthusiasm, a testament to her lasting influence and beloved legacy.
Born in Monterrey, Elsa Garcia was introduced to music by her mother, Mexican singer Hermelinda “Linda La Norteña” Escamilla. After moving to Houston at age two, Garcia went on to become a trailblazer in Tejano music. Her Grammy-nominated debut album Simplemente and gold-certified follow-up Ni Más, Ni Menos, featuring her signature hit “Ya Te Vi,” established her as one of the genre’s most influential voices and earned her the title of the First Lady of Tejano Music.
Meanwhile, La Casetera continues to dominate stages across Mexico and beyond with their vibrant revival of ‘80s and ‘90s Latin hits, blending cumbia, grupero, and Tejano nostalgia with a modern twist. Led by the powerhouse vocals of Yuli Flores, their concerts have become joyful celebrations of music and memory—made even more special by unforgettable moments like this one.
The night at Arena Monterrey was more than a concert—it was a historic celebration of culture, connection, and the timeless spirit of Tejano and cumbia, where past and present united through the power of music.
