Siggno frontman and Latin Grammy winner Jesse Turner is once again warning fans about online scammers, this time during one of the most difficult moments of his life. The beloved frontman, who recently lost his mother, took to social media to alert followers about fraudulent accounts using his name and likeness to ask for money.
“I didn’t want to get on here and make this type of video, especially in these hard moments for me in my life. But I really care about you guys,” Turner said in a heartfelt message. “If I seem down, please forgive me, but I wanted to take the time to tell you that people are still making fake accounts with my name and my photo. They’re asking for money for my mother’s services, for funeral arrangements. My mother didn’t need anything. Everything was taken care of. But there are people falling for these messages. These people are taking advantage of the moment.”
Turner urged fans to verify accounts before engaging with them. “Please, check the accent marks, check the numbers. Every one of my accounts has easily over 100,000 followers. Please check carefully. Be careful,” he warned.

Despite his grief, Turner expressed gratitude for the support he’s received. “Thank you for your prayers and your messages of comfort. It’s hard. It’s really hard. I’m trying my best. Thank you. I love you.”
Turner’s mother, Narcisa Cortez Ruiz, passed away last month at the age of 86, and her funeral was held earlier this month in Harlingen. The singer had previously spoken out about scammers using fake accounts in his name, and other Tejano stars, including La Mafia and Bobby Pulido, have also warned fans of similar schemes.
Turner’s latest message serves as a reminder to fans across the Tejano community to remain cautious online, especially during times of loss when scammers look to take advantage of grieving families and their supporters.
