West Texas’ own Asalto is turning heads with their latest single, “#TuYYo,” a powerhouse collaboration featuring none other than Latin Grammy-winning vocalist Cristina Salinas. The track, co-written by Asalto frontman Jordan Rodriguez and Jonathan Espinoza, is the newest highlight from Asalto’s EP Mas Fuerte Que Ayer and is accompanied by a dynamic music video that captures the essence of the song’s energy.
Rodriguez couldn’t contain his excitement about working with Salinas—best known for her time with the legendary Jimmy Gonzalez Y Mazz—praising her as “an amazing vocalist” and “an amazing performer.” He shared, “She’s so talented. If you haven’t seen the video, go watch it. You can feel her energy as soon as she comes up on the screen. She changed the whole momentum of the video, and it was just amazing. It’s something you have to see. And if you haven’t seen the EP, you have to watch it, because the whole thing connects together and tells a story.”
The “#TuYYo” video, part of the visual EP produced and edited by The Element’s Mike and Julia Lopez, showcases not just the song but the chemistry between Asalto and Salinas. Rodriguez added, “She’s an amazing artist to work with. Her energy brought a whole new vibe to the room during the music video shoot. You can tell her professionalism and the years she’s had in the industry. I can see why she’s a Latin Grammy winner—she deserves it.”
With Asalto continuing to push creative boundaries and collaborate with top talent like Salinas, fans can expect even more from the band as they aim for new heights. “We’re hoping to be there soon,” Rodriguez shared. “Spend time around the people who inspire you to make positive things happen, and they will. She’s one of them.”
