VICTORIA, TX — This Memorial Day weekend, the heart of south Texas Victoria pulsed with music, memory, and unmistakable Tejano pride as the Memorial Weekend Bash 2025 shattered attendance records and solidified its place as the premier Tejano festival in the United States.
Held for the second consecutive year at its new, expanded location, chosen after the event officially outgrew De Leon Plaza, the festival drew fans from across the country. Attendees made the pilgrimage from as far as New York, Chicago, California, Washington, Florida, New Mexico, Arizona, and every corner of Texas, all eager to be part of a weekend they say they wait for all year.
Despite ballooning costs, this year’s bash pushed forward without a hitch. With increased security, rising facility expenses, and high-demand artist bookings, the total cost of the event reached an all-time high, just shy of $300,000. But for organizer Frank Salazar and his team, the return was immeasurable.
“This was the most expensive event we’ve ever put on,” Salazar shared. “But seeing the joy on people’s faces, the families dancing, and all the red white and blue, made it all worth it.”
The star-studded lineup featured Tejano icons Michael Salgado, Bobby Pulido, Stefani Montiel, and David Farias, keeping crowds on their feet from the moment the gates opened until the final note echoed into the night.

But beyond the music and celebration, the heart of the weekend remained rooted in remembrance. In a powerful tribute that brought the festivities to a respectful pause, the festival honored the true meaning of the holiday. A flag and plaque were presented to the families of fallen soldiers, followed by a traditional 21-gun salute and a stirring performance of “Taps” by a lone bugler. The moment was a solemn reminder of the sacrifices that make our freedoms and gatherings like this possible.

When asked what is next, Salazar took a moment to reflect. “Now it’s time for a little break,” he smiled. “Then we start again… planning for next year.”
With its unmatched mix of star power, community spirit, and heartfelt tributes, Memorial Weekend Bash 2025 didn’t just raise the bar, it redefined what a Tejano festival can be. Thank you to all who showed up and said hi, and I’ll see on the radio. ¡Que siga la música Tejana!
