Tejano music legend Raulito Navaira has been released from the hospital after spending over 20 days undergoing intensive physical therapy and recovery following emergency spinal surgery. In an emotional video posted to social media, the beloved singer-songwriter celebrated the milestone and expressed heartfelt thanks to fans, family, and friends for their unwavering support.
“Hello everybody, I’m celebrating today because they let me go from the hospital,” Raulito said, smiling from his hospital bed. “I finished more than 20 days of physical therapy—they’ve given me the green light to go home. I’m so happy and grateful for that.”
The San Antonio artist revealed earlier this month that he had undergone a life-saving emergency back surgery due to an abscess on his spinal cord, a condition that caused him intense pain. In addition, Raulito required a separate procedure for an infected toe, which he noted while referencing the medical boot seen in his recent videos.
“I just wanted to thank everybody for your support, for your well wishes, for your prayers—and believe me—it helped me a lot,” he said.
Raulito’s message was filled with warmth and emotion as he gave special mention to his family—especially his daughter Destiny Navaira, son Rigo Navaira, Lauren, his sister Yvette, cousin Dina, and many more who were by his side throughout the journey. “You know, the things that happen—I don’t question why. I’m just so grateful that I’ve already come a long way,” he said. “I’ve got a little bit more to go, but I’m going home. I’m going home because of you.”
While the road to full recovery continues, Raulito is optimistic and faith-filled, assuring fans that he’s staying strong. “I’m okay. I’ll be all right. I have a lot of faith,” he said. “Again, thank you so much to all my family, friends, all the fans. It’s been incredible—the response—and I love you all.”
In support of Raulito’s healing journey, his daughter Destiny Navaira—a two-time Tejano Music Awards Female Vocalist of the Year and Latin Grammy nominee—has launched a GoFundMe campaign, Support Raulito on His Healing Journey, to help offset medical and recovery expenses. The campaign is now live and accepting donations.
Raulito Navaira’s influence on Tejano music spans decades. As the brother and former bandmate of the late Grammy-winning legend Emilio Navaira, Raulito has carved out a powerful legacy of his own through iconic performances and mentorship of rising Tejano stars. His children, Destiny and Rigo Navaira, continue to carry that legacy forward, championing the Navaira name with pride.
As Raulito transitions to the next phase of his recovery at home, the Tejano community remains united behind him with love, prayers, and continued support.
