Tejano-pop pioneer and Latin Grammy winner Bobby Pulido has released one of the most personal songs of his storied career with “Contra El Tiempo,” a moving tribute to his father and Tejano legend, Roberto Pulido. The touching track is the latest single from Bobby Pulido & Friends – Una Tuya y Una Mía, his double live album recorded during a five-night concert series in Monterrey, Mexico, late last year.
“This isn’t just a song. It’s a piece of my heart,” Pulido shared on social media. “A tribute to my father, Roberto Pulido, and everything he’s passed down to me — as a musician, as a man, and as a son.”
The accompanying live music video captures not only the emotion of the performance but also the deep bond between father and son, resonating powerfully with fans who have followed the Pulido legacy for decades.
Recorded live in December 2024 at the Auditorio Cumbres, the performance is a preview of Pulido’s ongoing farewell tour, Por La Puerta Grande, which commemorates his 30-year musical journey before his planned retirement at the end of 2025. The sixth single from the album, “Contra El Tiempo” follows another deeply personal track, his father’s recent single “Cuida Bien A Tu Mama,” making both songs standout emotional pillars of the live project.

Released through Fonovisa/Universal, Volume One of Una Tuya y Una Mía features 14 tracks, with two songs releasing weekly through May 30. Volume Two, featuring 16 more performances, begins rolling out June 17 through August 7. The album features a star-studded guest list including Jennifer Peña, David Olivarez, Majo Aguilar, Luis Padilla (Grupo La Firma), David Bisbal, and Alicia Villarreal—who joined Pulido for two electrifying duets just last week.
As Pulido continues his final tour, fans are witnessing not just a celebration of hits like “Desvelado,” “Enséñame,” and “Se Murió de Amor,” but also an artist reflecting on his roots, his legacy, and the family that helped shape it all. Looking ahead, Bobby is already planning his final studio album for release in 2026, and has also announced his intention to enter public service in Texas following his retirement from music.
“Contra El Tiempo” is more than a farewell—it’s a heartfelt thank you, a love letter to his father, and a timeless reminder of the enduring bonds of family and music.
