Tejano music sensation Magali Delarosa is venturing deeper into the world of film, and this time, she’s bringing the chills. The trailer for Ofrenda: Altar of the Dead, a supernatural horror film directed by Cristina Treviño, was released this week — and fans are already buzzing.
The film marks a milestone for Delarosa, who stars in the eerie tale centered around La Santísima Muerte, the Lady of Holy Death. With a tagline that warns, “You don’t summon her. She comes when she’s owed,” Ofrenda tells the story of a disrupted ritual on a quiet South Texas ranch that unleashes terrifying chaos as the dead rise and debts are paid in blood.
“So excited to share this trailer with you guys!! This was such an amazing project to be in and I want to thank Cristina Treviño for believing in me for this role,” Delarosa shared on social media. “This movie started me on my acting path and I will always be grateful.”
Filmed entirely in South Texas, Ofrenda: Altar of the Dead is a CineSurge.tv original and will stream exclusively on the platform. The film further cements Delarosa’s growing reputation as a formidable talent in horror. Last October alone, she appeared in several genre films including Black Clown 3 and Halloween Night, and she’s already making waves in her villainous role in the upcoming psychological thriller Manic.
“I grew up watching that genre a lot as a kid, and I’m very happy the directors trusted me to do these parts,” she tells Tejano Nation. “.” Her film credits continue to grow, with appearances in Find Me, John Bear: Journey to the Underworld, and a dramatic turn as a World War I nurse in American Patriot: The First Defender 1918, where she stars opposite her husband.
Despite her rising film profile, the Premios Tejano Mundial winner hasn’t stepped away from her musical roots. She’s currently in the studio working on new music, with a fresh music video set to debut soon alongside her upcoming cumbia single, “Cuando Te Enamoras.”
With both her music and film careers in full bloom, Magali Delarosa proves she’s not just a voice to be heard, but a force to be seen — and sometimes feared.
Watch the trailer for Ofrenda: Altar of the Dead now and look for the film’s premiere on CineSurge.tv soon.
