Corpus Christi, Texas – CHR Records CEO and President Rick Garcia is recovering in a Corpus Christ hospital after the Tejano ROOTS Hall of Famer had emergency surgery on Saturday, November 30.
In a statement to Tejano Nation, CHR Records revealed that Garcia was rushed to the emergency room with a high fever and chills. After a thorough examination, it was determined he was in sepsis and required immediate surgery for gallbladder removal. He was transferred to a hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas, where complications during the laparoscopic procedure necessitated a more invasive surgery. Thankfully, the surgery was successful, and Garcia is currently recovering well. He remains hospitalized but is expected to be released soon to continue his recovery at home.
“We ask for prayers for a speedy recovery and time for Rick to heal. This will be a long process but the doctors are confident that he will have a full recovery,” said the statement.
Rick Garcia, who has been at the helm of CHR Records since 2019, boasts a rich and diverse musical background. As a co-founder of the legendary Hacienda Records, Garcia has produced thousands of songs, including classics like Lisa Lopez’s “Si Quieres Verme Llorar” and Ruben Vela’s “Coco Rayado.” His contributions to the music industry have earned him inductions into the Tejano R.O.O.T.S. Hall of Fame in 2012 and the Texas Conjunto Music Hall of Fame in 2017, along with numerous awards. After over 40 years in the music industry, Garcia took on the role of President at the newly formed CHR Records in 2017.
