SAN ANTONIO, TX — Nominations are now open for La Quinta Entrega de los Premios Tejano Mundial 2025, the prestigious annual awards ceremony honoring the best in Tejano music, presented by the Academy of Tejano Music. This highly anticipated event will take place on Thursday, February 20, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas.
Nominations for the 2025 Premios Tejano Mundial began on December 1, 2024, and will remain open until December 31, 2024, at 12 p.m. CT. During this period, nominations for all categories will be accepted and verified to ensure they meet the eligibility requirements. Following the nomination period, voting for the public categories will commence on January 5, 2025, and close on January 12, 2025. Winners in the public categories, such as Entertainer of the Year, New Artist of the Year, and Song of the Year (Homenaje), will be determined by fan votes.
In addition to fan-voted categories, members of the Academy of Tejano Music will select winners in categories such as Female and Male Vocal Performances, Songwriter of the Year, and Producer of the Year. The Video of the Year will be chosen by a dedicated committee.
The evening will kick off with a Red Carpet event starting at 5 p.m. at the San Antonio Shrine Auditorium, located at 901 N Loop 1604 Acc Rd, San Antonio, Texas. The awards show will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets for the highly anticipated awards show will be available starting December 1, 2024, at tejanotix.com. The 2025 Premios Tejano Mundial will be livestreamed exclusively on the Roku channel, Tejano 360+, allowing viewers to watch the event without needing a subscription.
The Academy of Tejano Music will also begin accepting membership applications and renewals starting December 1, 2024. Membership options include Voting, Professional, and Student categories. Voting members will have the opportunity to participate in the voting process for various industry categories and will receive two VIP tickets to the event, along with one VIP parking pass.
Premios Tejano Mundial is an annual awards show created to recognize outstanding achievements within the Tejano music industry. From legendary icons to rising stars, the event celebrates the diverse talent that contributes to the vibrant Tejano music scene. The awards also honor various genres of Tejano music, including special recognition for educational efforts aimed at preserving and advancing the rich cultural heritage of Tejano music.
