Fort Worth, Texas — The Jukebox Preachers featuring Art Tigerina, led by Hays County resident Art Tigerina, have been named the Grand Champions of the Texas Country Showdown 2024, held at Billy Bob’s Texas in the heart of the historic Fort Worth Stockyards. The annual event, presented by the Texas Country Music Association (TCMA) on Saturday, November 9, 2024, saw eight of Texas’ top bands compete for the coveted title and cash prizes. After a thrilling performance, The Jukebox Preachers emerged victorious, taking home the Grand Champion honor during the star-studded awards ceremony.
The Texas Country Music Awards is the largest and most prestigious event in the Texas Country music scene, attracting fans from all over the state to Billy Bob’s Texas, known as the “World’s Largest Honky Tonk.” As the leading advocate for the Texas Country music industry, the TCMA is officially recognized by the State of Texas, making the annual awards ceremony a major milestone for artists in the genre.
Art Tigerina, a Bryan, Texas native, has been captivating audiences for over 30 years with his distinctive voice and dynamic stage presence. In addition to his work with The Jukebox Preachers, Tigerina also leads the Art Tigerina Band, a Tejano/Country fusion group that was recently named a finalist for the TCMA’s inaugural Best Tejano Band/Artist of the Year award. This remarkable double recognition—Grand Champion with The Jukebox Preachers and finalist for Best Tejano Band/Artist with the Art Tigerina Band—makes Tigerina’s achievements a historic first at the Texas Country Music Awards.
A two-time Grammy-nominated and multi-award-winning vocalist, Art Tigerina continues to build on a legendary career that has made him a standout in both the Tejano and Country music scenes.
