Award-winning Tejano singer, actress, and fashion designer Magali Delarosa takes home the Best Music Video award at the 10th annual South Texas International Film Festival for her vibrant and culturally rich video “Mujer Mexicana”.
In an interview with Tejano Nation Radio host Romeo, Magali shared her excitement and the hard work that went into creating the award-winning video.
“I really went into this award show thinking I really want this,” Magali said. “Sometimes I’m fine with just being nominated, but this time I really wanted it because the music videos mean so much to me. For me, it’s the most fun part of doing the music because I can do the acting, the dancing, the costumes, and the singing all in one platform.”
Magali emphasized the dedication and effort put into the video, stating, “We went all out for ‘Mujer Mexicana’. I told my team, ‘This is the one. We need to put everything we have into this.’ We had dancers, the band, mariachi, and cool costumes, many of which I made by hand. It was a lot of blood, sweat, and tears.”

In addition to her success in music, Magali shared exciting updates on her flourishing film career. She has several films set to release in October, including “Black Crown 3” and “Halloween Night”. She also recently wrapped up filming on the film “Manic”, where she portrays a villain. Magali expressed her love for participating in horror genre films, saying, “I grew up watching that genre a lot as a kid, and I’m very happy the directors trusted me to do these parts.”
Magali also revealed that she has booked a role in her first Christmas movie, “Eggnog, Sugar Cookies, and Misery”. While attending the South Texas Film Festival, she was invited to perform her music at next year’s event and was excited about the possibility of joining the “King of the South” series, which features Tejano singer El Gallo Dez and music produced from Tejano icon Shelly Lares.
“I did have a director come up to me. He directs the King of the South series and he said he also had a part for me in the series,” said Magali. “I know Shelly’s been working with them on music stuff and of course, she has her artist in it. This is so cool if I’m also in it too, like two Tejano artists representing in the series.”
Despite her busy acting schedule, Magali plans to return to the studio to work on a new album. Fans can look forward to a new single from the Premios Tejano Mundial winner for Best Female Vocal Performance earlier this year. The upcoming bilingual track, titled “Without You, (Bien Soy Yo)”, blends English and Spanish with an R&B vibe. “It’s very R&B, and I love it so much,” she shared.
The diverse talents and unwavering determination of Magali Delarosa continues to enchant audiences, solidifying her status as a prominent figure in the Tejano music and entertainment industry.
