Award-winning Tejano singer, actress, and fashion designer Magali Delarosa is featured in multiple movies nominated for awards, including one at the South Texas Film Festival next month in the Rio Grande Valley.
In a recent interview with Tejano Nation Radio host Romeo, Magali Delarosa shared exciting updates about her flourishing career. “Oh my gosh, we have so much going on, because now I’m doing the acting so much,” she exclaimed. Currently, Magali is in the midst of filming two movies: Manic and John Bear: Journey to the Underworld. She also revealed her role as a World War I nurse opposite her husband in an upcoming movie premiering on September 7th titled American Patriot: The First Defender 1918.

“I gotta say, I have a lot of fun doing the action stuff,” Magali revealed. “Right now I’m shooting a movie called Manic, where I play a villain, and it is a lot of action. There’s some fight scenes, I have weapons, I have this red wig, and it’s very fun. It is very, like, Quentin Tarantino-ish, that’s how I can describe it, and I love his movies, and that’s kind of how this movie is, it’s very unique, very different, and I’m excited to see it finished.”

Magali’s music video for “Mujer Mexicana” and the movie Morals are both nominated at the 10th annual South Texas Film Festival, which will be held in Edinburg, Texas, on September 10-14. “We’ll know if I take home the prize, so that’s exciting,” she said.
In addition to Magali’s acting endeavors, the Premios Tejano Mundial winner for Best Female Vocal Performance earlier this year is also working on new music and fashion projects. She plans to release a bilingual track titled “Without You, (Bien Soy Yo)” in the coming months, blending English and Spanish with an R&B vibe. “It’s very R&B, and I love it so much,” she shared. “I still am doing fashion, and right now, I’m getting up every day extremely early, just to have the time to work on the fashion from this hour to this hour, to make sure that that’s continuing to move forward.”
