Mario Morales, a native of Placedo, Texas, debuts in the Tejano music scene with the release of his first Spanish single, “Hazme Caso”. Morales, who grew up just 15 miles from Victoria, Texas, and graduated from Bloomington in 2009, has a deep-rooted love for music that was instilled in him by his family.
“I come from a family of musicians,” Morales shares with Tejano Nation. “At age 11 my mother wanted me to learn how to play the drums and at the time I didn’t want to but she forced me to, I thank her now for pushing me into what I am today.” Since then, he has played at weddings, quinces, birthday parties, and more.
Morales’ passion for music grew over time, leading him to learn the guitar through YouTube tutorials. Despite receiving mixed feedback on his early country music videos posted on social media in 2015, Morales persisted. His determination paid off when an up-and-coming country music star helped him build his following by sharing and liking his music videos. This support inspired Morales to write his own music.
Now, Morales has grown as an artist and recently released his first Spanish single, “Hazme Caso”. The song tells the story of a man who, after experiencing bad relationships, had sworn off love, only to have his mind changed by the woman in the song. “Hazme Caso” was written by Eduardo “Yayo” Anguiano, Cesar Morquecho, and Kelvin Mejia, and produced by David L Garza.

Morales is excited about what the future holds. “I have more music to come and in the works, I’m super excited about what’s to come and I can’t wait to share with the world,” he said.
