In a groundbreaking move, two friends and emerging media influencers of the Tejano industry, Delmi Nieto (La Che) and Armando Benavides (MandoLoko), have joined forces to create the “L & L – La Che and LoKo Show.” This dynamic duo intends to make their mark on the industry with weekly live streams, in-person interviews, and appearances at events, festivals, and award shows.
The first L&L live stream aired on February 15, 2024, featuring Conjunto veteran Jaime DeAnda, marking the beginning of a new era in Tejano music.
Armando Benavides, better known as MonDo LoKo, brings a wealth of experience to the table. With a Master’s in Global Management and over 20 years in the industry, including 10+ years of promotions and 7 years of internet radio/promotions under his own name, MonDo LoKo is a jack of all trades. His skills range from videography and photography to web design and DJing, but his favorite aspect of the industry is one-on-one interviews.
MonDo LoKo’s passion for the industry is evident. “I do this because I love it,” he says. “The majority of the Tejano/Conjunto Industry are like family! If there is anything I can do for my family, I WILL. New artists, established artists, club owners, DJs, and other organizations. You are all family! We are here for you!”
Despite facing challenges and setbacks, MonDo LoKo remains undeterred. “Negativity drives me to push forward,” he shares. “Sometimes, you just need to grab life by the throat and do an amazing job, with the best interview, with the best videos, and keep on pushing until the world realizes you mean business.”
The “L&L Show” holds a special place in MonDo LoKo’s heart. As his good friend Dr. Patsy Torres said, “Education and knowledge are supposed to be shared.” The goal of the L&L Show is to share La Onda Tejana with the world.
Nieto, or La Che, hosts her weekly “La Che” Radio Show every Tuesday on Tejano radio station KLMO 98.9-92.1 FM in San Antonio, Texas. She has also been a Tejano Nation contributor since 2022.
MonDo LoKo speaks highly of his co-host, La Che. “Every time I speak with La Che, she teaches me. I learn something new and interesting. I was impressed and humbled by her knowledge. I told myself, I would be honored to work side by side with an amazing woman.”
With the launch of the “L&L – La Che and LoKo Show,” the future of Tejano music looks brighter than ever.
