Casate Conmigo Tour brings much-needed buzz to Tejano genre

How the hit duet and the wedding-themed tour have revitalized the Tejano music scene

Whether you’re excited by the recent buzz around the Casate Conmigo 2024 Tour that features Tejano music’s most talked about stars, the charismatic Jesse Turner, frontman of Grupo Siggno, and Jennifer Pena, the beloved princess of Tejano music, you must admit that the collaboration has brought about much-needed buzz and excitement to the Tejano music scene.

The joining of the two stars, who fans like to speculate may be involved in more than just a professional collaboration, has definitely gained momentum since its Feb. 9 kickoff in San Antonio at the intimate Grand Event Center venue. This past weekend, the tour brought fans out to the massive Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg, Texas.

Turner and Pena definitely seem to draw a crowd wherever they go together. If social media is an indicator, their posts on Instagram and Facebook often reach several thousands of views. A few days ago, the popular pair recently helped break the live audience record for the #PVT Show hosted by Tejano ROOTS Hall of Fame broadcaster Rock n Roll James.

However, as always happens with new ideas, while this tour has largely met with positivity and excitement, not everyone has supported the collaboration of Turner and Pena, and the tour is named after the hit song the two wrote together. However, even the song itself shows the drawing power the two stars possess as it topped the iTunes Latin chart on the day of its release.

Even with its early success, some have described the tour, which plays on the wedding theme of the pair’s hit duet, as gimmicky or tacky. And many fans have simply chosen to focus more attention on the guessing game over whether the two artists are dating or not. But, if you have not seen the concert, you definitely should before you make an opinion.

When you see the concert, (see both videos for snippets of the highlights, both individual and together, from the tour’s kickoff in San Antonio) you will witness a hit-filled show that features both artists solo and together. The high-energy performances showcase the powerful chemistry between the two and you can see how much fun they have together as they show off the skills that have brought each of them major success.

Turner and Pena joke between songs, laugh, and kid around, but they get to business once the singing starts.

So, instead of knee-jerk reactions and uninformed criticisms, Tejano music fans should take a beat, get informed, and know that these two artists do wow the crowd on the “Casate Conmigo” tour. Their discography, sales, and awards speak for themselves. So, get excited about the buzz, the much-needed buzz, that these two popular and dynamic performers have breathed into Tejano music.

I hope fans don’t do what we always seem to do and knock something that could lift our music higher. Instead, fans should share in the excitement of this collaboration and give the tour a chance. It features two of the genre’s brightest stars at their best, and after seeing this concert, and covering the Tejano music genre for decades, I would even call the Casate Conmigo Tour a must-see show that you don’t want to miss.

this does not pass the smelter test of being a buzz i don’t see the big impact on this so-call tourfor several reasons 1. are we(the tejano music fans)supose to just welcome Jenni Pena with open arms? after more than 15 years of being inactive in the music buessness without recording a single album i guess it is just another tejano artist trying to revive there carrears to be honest i was never a jenni pena fan in my view she was a selina want a be! 2. Siggno i really do not know who keeps pushing time and money into this band there not that great music wise to me Siggno is just another norteno act because it is norteno music not tejano who ever wrote this pice is totaly wrong about what is going on with tejano music the buzz in my view is finaly mr joe lopez and mazz back making music
