MIAMI, Fla. — Bobby Pulido is one of the most successful and influential artists in the history of Tejano music and the singer-songwriter, musician, and actor will be recognized for his stellar career at the third annual Hispanic Celebrities Awards in Miami this week.
He debuted in 1995 signing a record deal with EMI Latin and released his first solo album, Desvelado. The album reached number nine on the Billboard U.S. Top Latin Albums chart and number three on the U.S. Regional Mexican Albums chart.
His second album, Enséñame (1996), reached number two on the Billboard Regional Mexican Albums chart and earned him a nomination for the Tejano Music Award for Male Vocalist of the Year and the Lo Nuestro Award for Regional Mexican New Artist of the Year.
In 1998, he performed at a sold-out Coca-Cola Auditorium in Monterrey, becoming the first Tejano musician to do so. He also became the youngest recipient of the Orgullo de la Frontera award for Fiestas Mexicanas in February 1999.

By 2000, the popularity of Tejano music was declining, which affected Pulido’s later albums’ sales and chart performance. However, he continued to win awards and recognition, including the Tejano Music Awards for Male Vocalist of the Year three years in a row (1998-2000). In 2022, he won his first Latin Grammy for Best Tejano Album for his latest release, Para Que Baile Mi Pueblo.
