SAN ANTONIO, TX — The Squeezebox, one of the most popular music venues on the St. Mary’s strip, is closing its doors after six years of hosting live performances, DJ sets, and themed nights. The final night of the club will be on July 30, and it will feature some of the best local and regional acts in the Latin, Tejano, and Conjunto genres.
According to the club’s Facebook page, the lineup for the farewell night includes LA 45, Sunny Ozuna, All Vinyl DJs y Mariachi. Doors open at 7 p.m. and tickets are $10 at the door. The club advises patrons to arrive early as the capacity is limited and the demand is high.
The Squeezebox has been a staple of the San Antonio music scene since it opened in 2017, offering a diverse and eclectic mix of sounds and styles. The club has hosted local legends like Flaco Jimenez, Augie Meyers, and Girl in a Coma, as well as national and international acts like Celso Piña, Bomba Estéreo, and Ozomatli. The club has also been a platform for emerging artists and DJs, as well as a community space for fundraisers, art shows, and cultural events.
The club’s owner, Aaron Peña, said in a statement that he is grateful for the support and love that he has received from the musicians, staff, and patrons over the years. He said that he is proud of what The Squeezebox has accomplished and that he hopes to see everyone on the final night.
The Squeezebox is located at 2806 N Saint Marys St, San Antonio, Texas. For more information, visit their Facebook page or call (210) 314-8845.
