Harlingen, Tex. — CHR Records recording artist Hilda Lamas has been nominated for three (3) Josie Music Awards. The categories include World Artist of the Year, Multi-genre Vocalist of the Year, and Music Video of the Year-Female.
This is the third consecutive year that Lamas has been nominated by the Josie Music Awards. Lamas is the only Spanish-language artist selected in the Music Video of the Year category.
“It is truly an honor to be nominated for the Josie Music Awards,” said Lamas. “Thank you to the nomination committee for the recognition and thank you to my amazing team, producer Rick Garcia and composer Pedro Marroquin, this would not be possible without your talents.”
The Josie Music Awards is an all-genre music awards show ceremony with a red carpet and various performances. The Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee, will host this year’s awards show on October 22, 2023. Since 2015, the Josie Music Awards has remained the largest independent artist awards show in the world. There were over 59,000 submissions received this year.
Lamas hails from Latin music royalty as the niece of Mexican singer and actress Dulce La Cantante (Tu Muñeca, Dejame Volver Contigo, Heridas). Lamas is a recording artist who has seamlessly transcended genres with her musical catalog including Blues, Country, Tejano, and more. Lamas was named the Country Music Association of Texas 2021 Americana Artist of the Year and received the CMA of Texas Americana Song of the Year for “Esta Noche Ayudame” in 2022. Lamas spent last summer on what she calls a dream come true as a background vocalist for Disney’s Encanto actress and singer Adassa.
The current singles for Lamas include “Amor Condicional” and “Caprichosa,” which are available on all digital outlets and Tejano radio stations. The music videos for both songs are available on YouTube.
