Destiny Navaira released the second single from her highly-anticipated project, Las Letras de Mi Padre, which features iconic songs written by her father Raulito Navaira. The single is her rendition of “Ya No Me Pones Atención,” one the most successful songs from her father and late uncle Emilio Navaira, as a duet featuring Grammy-nominated singer Lupita Infante, another legacy in Mexican music as the granddaughter of Pedro Infante.
“I truly wanted to give my dad something different,” said Destiny. “I met Lupita in a show we played together in Ohio and knew after watching her perform that she would be part of my musical journey.”
The single was recorded under the direction of Grammy Award-winning producer Alfonso Herrera and Rigo Navaira, Destiny’s brother and Latin Grammy-nominated musician.
“I love how you can hear the mixture of both styles and it makes it that much more special that my father, uncle, and grandfather were super fans of Pedro Infante,” added Destiny. “I hope everyone enjoys the song as much as I did.”
The song’s release comes after Destiny surprised her dad with a message from Lupita about the new rendition of the iconic track in a heartfelt video shared on social media.
An official music video for the collaboration is being filmed in Monterrey, Mexico, and is expected to be released soon.
“Ya No Me Pones Atención” from Destiny Navaira featuring Lupita Infante is available now on all digital music platforms.
