Krystal Diaz releases her first Tejano Country song, “Tequila Does” to celebrate Rodeo San Antonio. The vivacious singer is thrilled to blend the two genres she loves so much, Tejano and Country for her latest single release, a cover of the 2019 hit by Country star Miranda Lambert.
Diaz credits her talented producer David L. Garza for his zest and creativity in adding this fusion along with featured talented musicians Alejandro Gulmar of Grupo Intocable on bajo sexto and accordionist Rosendo Villarreal. Diaz’s vision of this song was to show her music diversity and captivate the Tejano and County audiences.
“I’m a proud Tejana, born and raised on Country and Tejano music. These are my roots and the music that makes me feel the most alive,” said Diaz. “When I decided to do this song, I wanted to fuse the two genres together (you know me, I don’t like to stick to the rules haha) and the outcome was everything I could imagine!”
An official music video will be released this Spring that Diaz will professionally choreograph featuring some of San Antonio’s best dancers.
Diaz shares it was a hectic but blessed past year professionally and personally as Artistic Director and owner of Danzavida De San Antonio Dance Company, Executive Director of the Miss Reina Latina San Antonio Pageant, Special projects host, and motherhood. She was extremely motivated by her 1-year-old son Gabriel to release this single to show that no matter how busy she is all things are possible with passion, hard work, and preservation.
The San Antonio singer is enjoying her work on the release of each one of her songs that will be featured on her debut album. Diaz hopes “Tequila Does” motivates everyone to grab their boots and dance, with tequila of course! She is looking forward to performing this song live for her fans at her scheduled shows during Fiesta along with a special performance at this year’s Poteet Strawberry Festival. She even has plans to perform it live on her float at the Fiesta Flambeau Night Parade, where over 750,000 people flood the streets of San Antonio. She is extremely excited for the energy of the city to celebrate and dance with her.
The song is available on YouTube and will be available on all digital platforms. Request it today on your favorite radio stations.
