Tejano newcomer Madison Pulido is one of many emerging singers in the recent wave of new female talent in the Tejano music industry. She began her career with the release of her debut singles “Porque Sera” and “Simplemente Por Quererte A Ti” last year, and the 22-year-old singer officially released her highly-anticipated debut album Simplemente.
Pulido, who is related to the iconic Pulido family (she’s a fifth cousin), credits Tejano ROOTS Hall of Famer David Olivarez with assisting her to enter Tejano music after participating in his annual talent search competition in 2021.
“He really did help us grow as individual artists,” Pulido said of Olivarez. “He showed us different tips on how to work the stage and interact with the crowd and how to be more confident on stage. So, I do want to thank David Olivarez for giving me and many other artists the opportunity to be able to be a part of that show because that was definitely a take off in me definitely wanting to step foot into the Tejano industry.”
Pulido teamed with singer-songwriter and producer Lorenzo Lopez and veteran musician Brando Mireles to record her debut album.
“The songs, they do have a story behind them,” said Pulido. “If you look at them in a general view they are lovey, happy, bubbly type songs and that’s kind of who I am in my personality. I just wanted to simply showcase who I am and it shows my voice. I look very young for my age and so for my voice being so gentle or angelic or dainty, I guess you could say. It just shows who I am in the album.”
The lead single for the talented vocalist born in Lake Jackson, Texas, was “Porque Sera,” an upbeat cumbia with a catchy chorus that captures Pulido’s personality and earned her an award as Best Uprising Female of the Year at the 4th annual All-Star Music Awards.
Simplemente, the debut album from Madison Pulido, is available to stream or download on all digital music platforms.
