
SAN ANTONIO, Tex. — Nominations are now being accepted for the third annual Premios Tejano Mundial, organizers announced on Monday (Dec. 5).
Premios Tejano Mundial recognizes achievements in the Tejano music industry each year. This year’s ceremony will be held once again at San Antonio’s Shrine Auditorium with live performances by Tejano artists and the presentation of the awards in 23 categories including Entertainer of the Year, Male and Female Vocal Performance, New Artist, Group/Duo, and Social Artist of the Year. Song genre categories include Cumbia, Cumbia Pop, Conjunto, Crossover, Country, Mariachi, Norteno, Progressive, Christian, Chicano, Collaboration, and Homenaje. Industry awards include Songwriter, Producer, and Engineer.
Nominations can be made at TejanoMundial.com. Only one (1) submission per category is allowed per person. Multiple submissions will be disqualified. Qualified original works must have been released between January 1, 2022, and December 31, 2022.
Award recipients will be recognized at the 3rd annual Premios Tejano Mundial at the Shrine Auditorium in San Antonio, Texas on Sunday, March 5, 2023. Tejano music icon Shelly Lares will be honored with tribute performances the night before on March 4.
