dick clark productions and ABC announced nominees for the 2022 American Music Awards (AMAs), the world’s largest fan-voted awards show. Bad Bunny leads all nominees with eight, while Beyoncé, Drake, and Taylor Swift earn six each, and Adele, Harry Styles, and The Weeknd received five.
The viral smash hit “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” from the Disney movie soundtrack Encanto received nominations for Collaboration of the Year and Favorite Pop Song. The song features members of the movie’s cast including Adassa, the voice of Dolores and cousin of the main character Mirabel, who can hear things from miles away. The song includes Carolina Gaitán, Mauro Castillo, Rhenzy Feliz, Diane Guerrero, Stephanie Beatriz & Encanto Cast.
It has been said that all good things eventually come full circle. This is the case for singer, songwriter, and actress Adassa. This Miami-born Afro-Latin Colombian singer refers to Texas as the place where it all started. From humble beginnings in Houston, Texas, to international venues around the world, Adassa released a couple of cumbias over the past year, “Ni Un Beso” and “Flor de Lis,” produced by her award-winning husband, Gabriel Candiani. “Ni Un Beso” reached the top 5 of the Tejano Gold Countdown.
The AMAs represent the year’s top achievements in music determined by the fans, for the fans. Last year’s show is the most social telecast of 2021 with 46.5 million interactions, underscoring the role fans play in the annual event. A vibrant night of non-stop music, the AMAs features a powerful lineup featuring first-time collaborations and exclusive world premiere performances from music’s biggest names – from Pop to Rap, R&B to Country, Latin to K-Pop – and more, as well as memorable moments that live on in pop culture.
As the world’s largest fan-voted awards show, the AMAs will air globally across a footprint of linear and digital platforms in more than 120 countries and territories. The AMAs will air live from Microsoft Theater at L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles, California, on Sunday, Nov. 20 at 8pm EST/PST on ABC.
