Tejano and international music artist Mia has released a much-anticipated single for the new year. “Escápate” is a Spanish cumbia originally written by Alejandro Jaen Palacios and made popular by Tejano music icon Elsa Garcia.
Mia recorded this single at the legendary studios of Q Productions and was produced by none other than Abraham “Mr. Q” Quintanilla.
The youngest ever Tejano Music Awards winner for Best New Female Artist is currently attending high school in Austin, Texas, after being awarded a full scholarship at St. Stephens Episcopal School for the second consecutive year. St.Stephens has been rated number 1 of 24 private schools in Austin, and number 1 boarding school in Texas.
Mia also participates in USA Gymnastics Tumbling and Trampoline. The competition season has just begun as well, and Mia will be busy training for the season as a level 10 gymnast on Trampoline and Double-Mini Trampoline, along with level 9 in tumbling. Currently, Trampoline is an Olympic sport. This past summer, Mia was able to train with Team USA Olympic Coach Nuno for Trampoline and Team USA Coach Chelsey.
Currently, Mia’s school work and sports take up the majority of her schedule, but when time allows, she continues to work on music and practice with her bandmates, and travel. Mia will be performing at Rodeo Austin on March 13, 2022.
