
The third annual Guadalupe Awards take place this weekend in Houston, Texas. Tejano music veterans Ram Herrera and Jay Perez, along with rising stars Monica Saldivar and Demmi Garcia have the most nominations with five each.
Other top nominees include Joe Lopez, Jaime DeAnda, Tony “Tigre” Saenz, and Cindy Ramos with four nominations.
The event at El Social Sports and Entertainment Bar in Houston on Saturday, November 20, will feature performances from Tejano Highway 281, The Homeboyz, Lazaro Perez, Mas Tequila Band, Magnifico 7, and more.
The Guadalupe Awards have recognized the best in Tejano and Conjunto each year since 2019 including outstanding performers, songs, productions, and more in 35 categories. The event was by created veteran Tejano events promoter Andrew Belmarez and is dedicated to the life and heritage of his late mother Guadalupe M. Belmarez, who passed away in 2015.
Tickets are available at the door for $15 before 10:00 p.m. and $20 after. Table reservations are available, call 504-343-1354 for details. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. El Social Sports and Entertainment Bar is located at 2327 McCarty Street in Houston.
