Texas Latino lead vocalist Gabe Rivera shared details on the group’s upcoming album and his own solo project in an interview with The AC Cruz Podcast.
Texas Latino released their album From The Heart of Texas in 2020 just before the beginning of the pandemic and the disc features new songs along with the group’s greatest hits of the ’90s rerecorded with Tejano music icons like Ram Herrera, Ricardo Castillon, and more. Now, the San Antonio-based group is currently working on a new album and Rivera told The AC Cruz Podcast, “We have a lot of surprises coming up, a lot of collaborations and cool things on the way, so be on the lookout for that.”

Rivera, who also spent time with legendary band Fama in his career, added he plans on a solo project working with Severo “Sevy ” Contreras of Texas Latino as producer.
“That’s something that’s been in the talks with my producer,” said Rivera. “I’ve always wanted to record a mariachi album and we’re already kind of talking about it but that takes a long time. It takes a whole team to get that together, so that’s something that I have my eye on.”
