The Tejano Music Awards announced on Monday that public ballot voting for the 40th edition of “The Biggest Night in Tejano Music” has been extended an extra day due to technical difficulties with the voting website.
“Due to the technical issues we experienced yesterday during our voting process. We are going to extend the Public voting process until midnight, tonight November 30,2020,” said a statement from the Texas Talent Musicians Association, producers of the Tejano Music Awards, on the TMA official Facebook page. “We wanna make sure each vote is accounted for! We are sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.”
The general public may vote for their choice in each music category for the Tejano Music Awards, the longest-running awards show for the Tejano music genre. Categories this year include Song of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year for Tejano and Conjunto, Collaboration/Duo of the Year, and Best New Artist for Male, Female, and Group.
Voting can be done at TejanoMusicAwards.com through 11:59 p.m. CT on Monday, November 30, 2020. One vote per household. One vote per artist, group, or manager. Duplicate and invalid ballots will be deleted.
Artists submit their full albums, released between January 1, 2019, through December 31, 2019, for Tejano Music Awards consideration. Industry ballots are submitted for the first round of voting and the general public is the final round of voting. The Top 5 nominees for each category will be announced after general public voting ends.
Winners will be announced during the 40th annual Tejano Music Awards on Saturday, December 19, 2019, a virtual live-streamed event exclusively on Fierro HD and Radio.com featuring new performances and classic performances over the past 39 years, along with the announcement of the winners for the best of 2019.
