Aisha and Ray Ray lead the second annual All-Star Music Awards winners

The virtual ceremony held due to coronavirus concerns recognized local and international Tejano talent on July 26.

The second annual All-Star Music Awards handed out accolades to rising Tejano stars during a virtual ceremony via social media platforms on July 26.


The ceremony. originally scheduled for May 25 at the Arneson River Theatre in San Antonio, Texas, was postponed to July over coronavirus concerns. The All-Star Music Awards support and recognize local and international Tejano talent.

Aisha and Ray-Ray were the big winners taking home two awards each. Aisha, who released her debut album Mi Vida en Cancion in 2018, won Female Entertainer of the Year and Song of the Year for “Baby Baby.” Ray-Ray won Male Entertainer of the Year and Video of the Year for “Costumbres.”

Other winners include Tejano Highway 281 for Album of the Year with The 281 Studio Sessions, Vocal Duo of the Year was Shelly Lares and JR Gomez for their hit collaboration “Ayer”. Tony Guerrero Y La Sombra won Tejano Group of the Year, Devin Banda was Female Vocalist of the Year, and Best Conjunto went to the Conjunto Cats.

Best Accordion Player of the Year: Frankie “Lightning” Perez

Best Bajo/Guitar Player of the Year: Roberto “Boo Boo” Martinez

Best Journalist/Photographer of the Year: Vanessa Torres, Tejano Nation

Best On-Air Radio Personality: Bigg Boyee, KLMO 98.9 FM – San Antonio
