Initially meant to be a list of 50, this list of 55 artists was labor-intensive to put together. Looking over both current and past Tejano/Conjunto artists over the last week, had a multitude of factors.
Base Criteria was as follows:
1 album or more
Industry impact
Cultural impact
Performance
Music catalog (Song Selection)
Lyrical/ Musical Strength

Being fair to both Tejano/Conjunto was our ultimate goal, along with putting together a list of current and past Tejano acts who musically and culturally made an impact on the industry. If you haven’t heard of some of the artists on the list we urge you to look up their discography and their history.
Editor’s note: This list was compiled by Tejano Nation staff and is for entertainment purposes to keep the conversation going on Tejano/Conjunto music for fans.
