
Elida Reyna Y Avante and Stevie D. took home the most awards at the second annual My Tejano Awards at the Mission Event Center in Mission, Texas on Sunday night.
Elida Reyna Y Avante won Top Album and Top Video for “Suavecito”, while Stevie D. earned Top New Male and Top Collaboration for “Me Muero Por Tu Amor” with Shelly Lares.
Other winners included music legend Little Joe as Top Entertainer, Isabel Marie Sanchez as Top Female Artist, La Mafia as Top Tejano Band, and The Hometown Boys as Top Conjunto. Jay Perez and Lucky Joe shared the Top Male Artist award. Monica Saldivar was named Top New Female and Humberto “Beto” Ramon was Top Songwriter. Freddie Martinez and Abraham Quintanilla each received Lifetime Achievement Awards.
The night was filled with live performances from some of the winners and tribute performances to late Tejano music legends Laura Canales and Jimmy Gonzalez.
