The highly-anticipated new album, Obra De Amor, from Tejano icon Shelly Lares is officially out now!
The album took over three years to complete and features 11 songs from Litte Miss Dynamite. It’s the first album since the passing of her father Fred Lares in 2016.
“Those of you that may or may not know, I started this CD before I lost my dad in 2016, a year I couldn’t do anything,” Lares said recently. “I was not creating, I was not arranging, nothing, and then came in, did ‘Devuelveme El Corazon’ a year ago and it just all started pouring out of me and we were able to finish the CD.”
The 11-track album features different genres from the Hall of Famer, who is celebrating her 37th year in Tejano music this year.
“I’m so emotional about it,” she added. “A lot of my heart and soul is in it. It’s everything that I love, different genres. But nonetheless, the hardcore heartbeat of it all is Tejano music. Thank you for your patience. Thank you for your love and support and I hope you guys enjoy it!”
Obra De Amor is available now at all digital music outlets. But the album from the Tejano Nation Amazon Store here.
