
Elida Reyna Y Avante added three more wins to their record-setting total and Mia became the youngest winner ever at 38th Tejano Music Awards in San Antonio, Texas on Saturday night.
EYA swept all three categories the group was nominated, including Tejano Album of the Year for Mi Época, “Corre” was awarded Song of the Year and Elida added Female Vocalist of the Year. The three wins made a total of 34 Tejano Music Awards for EYA, most by any female artist. Late Tejano icon Jimmy Gonzalez has the most Tejano Music Awards at 40, including the Lifetime Acheivement Award on Saturday night.
Young singing sensation Mia won Best New Female Artist at 11-years-old, making her the youngest artist to win a Tejano Music Award, one year after Isabel Marie became the previous youngest ever at the age of 15 for the same category in 2017.
Other new artist categories included Stevie D. as Best New Male Artist and Rick Fuentes and The Brown Express as Best New Group.
For the second straight year, Michael Salgado won Norteño Album of the Year for Otras Historias. Conjunto Album of the Year was Lo Mas Caliente by Ricky Naranjo Y Los Gamblers.
Da Krazy Pimpz won their first ever Tejano Music Award as Entertainer of the Year and Art Tigerina was Male Vocalist of the Year.
