La 45 released a teaser video of the band’s highly-anticipated debut single, “Indita Mia,” on Tuesday via YouTube. The clip features a recording session of the band working on the lead single for their debut album.
La 45, who signed with VMB Music Group earlier this year, is the next generation of Chicano music as the band pumps young blood and energy into the tradition of the Tejano Orquesta.
Vocalist and guitarist Mike Torres III told Tejano Nation in a recent interview what type of sound to expect from the band’s upcoming debut album.
“We really try to stick to the Chicano sound,” Torres said. “We have a five piece horn section – two trumpets, two sax and a trombone – and we’re huge fans of Little Joe, Latin Breed, Royal Jesters, all the bands from the 70s. We’re trying to do something that incorporates all that and still brings us into today and give us kind of that newer sound too.”
“Indita Mia” is expected to be released in full within the next two weeks and the debut album before the end of the year.
