Tejano stars received multiple nominations for the 2017 Premios Estrellas del Permian Basin announced on Wednesday.

Premios Estrellas del Permian Basin honors Regional Mexican artists who have made a great impact through their music over the past year. For over 10 years now, it continues with the same mission of supporting, honoring, promoting, and recognizing the achievements of nominees.
“We want to impact the lives of our musicians in a very positive way so we believe that the success of artists goes beyond what a role says,” said Rebeca Sánchez, director of Premios Estrellas del Permian Basin. “The success of each of these artists is determined by the public and we want them to be the ones who decide who deserves these awards.”
Premios Estrella is one, if not the only, state that determines its winners based on the votes of the public regardless of album sales or position on the charts.
