AJ Castillo took to social media to post about his experience during the mass shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday night.

The Associated Press reported a gunman perched high on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel unleashed a shower of bullets down on an outdoor country music festival, killing at least 50 people and wounding more than 400. It was the deadliest mass shooting in modern U.S. history.

The Tejano star was in Las Vegas over the weekend celebrating his father’s birthday with his family.

“We’re in Vegas right now, we’re okay, but it’s crazy out here right now,” Castillo said during a Facebook Live video posted on Monday morning. “They have everything on lockdown…Everything is shut down.”

Castillo added that he was near the scene of the mass shooting as he arrived to the MGM Grand Hotel and described the chaos during the horrendous event.

“People were running, people were bleeding, people were throwing up, people were screaming. I seen grown men crying. It was crazy,” Castillo said.

Castillo returned to where his parents were staying to stay safe and post the video.

“What I hear, it was a Jason Aldean concert and somebody opened fire on everybody that was there,” Castillo said. “It’s crazy…what the world is doing now…You can’t even go to a concert. You got worry about getting shot, getting killed.”
