Tejano legend Jessy Serrata has been released from the hospital after kidney cancer surgery last month.
The news was posted on Facebook by Serrata’s wife, Beatriz, on Wednesday, “Going home from hospital. Home here in Houston. Thanks To God. My hubby wants to Thank everyone for all their Prayers and Blessings.”
The 63-year-old singer was diagnosed with stage 3 kidney cancer after being hospitalized on April 24, and had surgery last month to remove his right kidney.
Serrata, also known as “Mr. Iron Throat,” has appeared on over 17 albums and was nominated for a Latin Grammy in 2004 for his album Better Than Ever.
The singer will give his first interview after surgery with Super Tejano 102.1 morning host Mando San Roman on Friday, July 21.
