After the singer put on an amazing performance and received the award for Vocal Duo Of The Year with Jose Zamora of Zamorales for “Sin Dolor No Hay Olvido,” he got down on one knee for the big proposal.
“My plan was to get her on stage at Fan Fair and ask her there in front of everyone, but then I thought it wouldn’t be that personal for us, so I asked her after I performed.” Lucky Joe told Tejano Nation. “I guess that’s why I threw up before getting on stage, between all the commotion of packing up our merch and getting ready to leave I put my award down on the floor got on one knee and asked…she said ‘WHAT I CANT HEAR YOU ARE YOU OK?’, then I said it louder and she said YES!”
Lucky Joe and Garcia have been together for a long time and she has given the singer a lot of love and support.
“We’ve been together going on four years now and it hasn’t been easy, especially because of my line of work,” said Lucky Joe. “But she’s been nothing but supportive since day one. It’s very hard to find a person that’s willing to put up with someone in this line of work.”
The newly engaged couple plan to have a private wedding ceremony in front of family and friends on November 11, 2017.
“It was a perfecting ending to an awesome night,” Lucky Joe added. “I received my award for Vocal Duo of the Year and received my partner for the rest of my life!”
