Veteran Tejano musician James Rodriguez has released his debut solo single, “Pero Meintras Que Hago,” from his soon to be titled debut album.

This exciting and fresh ranchera was written by legendary songwriter Beto Ramon and arranged by Grammy winner Hugo “Charanga King” Guerrero. The song was engineered by Grammy winner Mario Vigil of All Day Everyday Productions and executive produced is Joey Rodriguez.

James Rodriguez played drums and was a vocalist in some of the most iconic bands in Tejano music, including Mexican Brass of Felix Mungia, Paco Rodriguez, Augustine Ramirez, Joe Bravo, Carlos Miranda and the late Alfonso Ramirez. When he started in the music business, he was a member of some Conjunto groups, including Cuatitos Cantu (Cantu Twins) and the Muchachos de Tejas (Boys from Texas). James Rodriguez started a band named REMEDIO which lasted eight years.

After sustaining a back injury, he took a break from performing and stopped playing the drums. Today James Rodriguez is focusing on his singing career and performs for all types of social events with his new band, The Austin Band.

He has always had a dream to record a full CD and now that day has arrived.
