Vocalist Marissa Sandoval is no longer part of Severo Martinez Y Grupo Fuego, according to a post on her official Facebook page on Tuesday (July 13).

“After being with Severo Y Grupo Fuego for a little over a year, our visions have grown in different directions and we have decided to part ways,” Sandoval posted on Facebook along with a video. “I truly want to thank all of the fans who have supported me this past year. I am going to continue on my journey and I hope to see your faces in the near future!”

The Albuquerque, New Mexico-based band received three nominations at the 25th annual New Mexico Hispano Music Awards earlier this year, including Bilingual Song of the Year and Vocal Duo of the Year for “Quiero Saber” featuring Marissa Sandoval, and a nomination for Band of the Year.

Severo Y Grupo Fuego recently won Song Of The Year for “Suavecito Suavecito” at the Los 15 Grandes 2015 presented by the New Mexico Latin Music Academy in November.

Pretty hilarious. They both are mediocre vocalists at best. Probably had a cat fight over who had a tighter clam.
